Kinbrook Island Provincial Park

Built by the Kinsmen Club of Brooks in 1944, Kinbrook Island became a provincial park in 1951. Kinbrook Island Provincial Park is located 13 km south and 2 km west of Brooks Alberta. Access is on Secondary Road #873. The park is situated on Lake Newell, and provides opportunities for various outdoor recreational activities such as boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, bird watching, camping and picnicking.

The public facilities within the park include a 167 site campground, 20 site overflow area, group use facilities, day use facilities, beach, boat launch, 2 new playgrounds, public telephones, horseshoe pits and hiking trails. A fast food concession and convenience store is provided in the day use area.

In door flush toilets and loonie showers were a great new addition to the park in the Summer in 2002. Two dollars will allow you to enjoy 5-7 minutes of shower time. In the Laundry room, the washer costs $1.50 and the dryer costs $1.00. A great way to dry out sleeping bags on those rainy days!

There is plenty to do at Kinbrook Island! We have horseshoe pits, volleyball net, a large area for soccer or frisbee. Bring your own equipment or borrow ours! (deposit required)
